Wolfgang Bertsch, a scholar of Tibetan studies in Germany, has been doing research on Tibetan coins and paper money since 1974 and has published several articles on this subject in different journals including the Tibet Journal; his latest publication being A Study of Tibetan Paper Money with a Critical Bibliography, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (LTWA), 1997.

Erberto Lo Bue obtained his PhD in Tibetan studies at the University of London in 1981 and is a full-time researcher at the Department of Linguistic and Oriental Studies of the University of Bologna, where he teaches history of Indian and Central Asian art.

Cathy Cantwell, PhD, is a Research Associate at the Centre for Social Anthropology and Computing at the University of Kent at Canterbury, currently working on a research project concerning the Waddell edition of the rNying ma'i rgyud 'bum held at the British Library.

Gedun Chophel (1903-1951). His works are available in three volumes in the Gangs ljongs rig mdzod Series (Vols. 10, 11 & 12) published in 1990 by Gangs ljongs dpe raying dpe skrun khang, Tibet.

Geoff Childs is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Demography Program, Research School of Social Science, the Australian National University, Canberra.

Kavita Goswami is a PhD candidate in the Department of Psychology, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, India. She is teaching psychology in an undergraduate college.

Dawa Norbu was educated at St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, holding B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. He did his PhD at the University of California (Berkeley). At present he is Professor of International Studies with special referrence to Central Asia in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and fellow of the University of Durham, U.K. His publications include, Red Star Over Tibet (Collins, 1974), Culture and the Politics of Third World Nationalism (Routledge, 1992), Tibet the Road Ahead (Harper Collins, 1997) and China's Tibet Policy (Curzon, 2001). He has also contributed scholarly articles to Asian Survey, China Quarterly, International Studies, Pacific Affairs etc.

Ani Norzom holds an Acharya degree in Tibetan and Buddhist studies from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi, India Presently she works at the Library of Tibetan Works & Archives (LTWA), Dharamsala, India.

Nupur Pathak, PhD, teaches Anthropology at Punjab University, Chandigarh, and is actively engaged in research work on the problems of immigrant Tibetans in India She has been engaged in a research project sponsored by Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi. She has presented papers in several International/National conferences and has published her research works in various academic journals in India and abroad.

R. S. Pirta is on the faculty of the Department of Psychology, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, India. He holds a PhD on the effects of urbanization on non-human primates. His research interests include evolution of cooperative behavior, forest and wild-life conservation and the fragile Himalayas.

Barbara Standley is a volunteer editor at-LTWA. She has been an editor of the Encyclopedia Britannica, a free-lance editor of non-fiction works, and intellectual property manager for a major aerospace company. She resides in Phoenix, Az, USA, and in Dharamsala, India.

Thupten K. Rikey is the Head of Research & Translation Department and the Managing Editor of the Tibet Journal, LTWA.

Mark Tatz holds a PhD. in Buddhist studies from the University of British Columbia and he is an independent research scholar based at Berkeley, California.

Tsering Thondup studied Tibetan medicine at Men-tsee-khang for three consecutive years. Presently he is a research assistant at the Tibetan Herbal Clinic and Research Center (Sidhbari, Dharamsala) and is engaged in co-authoring a book on medical diagnosis with Dr. Namgyal Qusar and writing a critical, comparative study on Tibetan and Western medicine.
