Presler consists of bound volumes, picture albums, maps, and binders of computer print-outs pertaining to basic case studies of ca. 4010 religious institutions in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India and its immediate environs, conducted by Presler and his associates.
Summary: Case studies were based on field work observations, 1949-1972, which attempted to describe and explain the religious institutions and practices of Christianinty, Hinduism, Islam, Janism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, and various tribal religions in the area.
Summary: Information found in each case study may include geographical location, natural area, religion, sect, dimensions of structures, names of institutions, functionaries, functions, income, daily rituals, festivals, constituency, management of special week days, property ownership, endowment, religious experiences, images, signs, sacred trees and shrubs, ritual accouterments, magic, evil eye, legends, myths, testimonies, stories, history, and assorted miscellaney.
